Marjan Vrankulj creates illuminated sculptures from metal,
wood, and stone structures which he covers with vegetal fiber
previously suffused with natural pigments. This gives way to
vegetal, animal, or abstract forms.
"Whether it's my art or in my life, I don't put up with
boundaries: to me, life is the only important thing. Perhaps
that is the reason I started creating luminous
sculptures-because the play of light is the original essence
of nature, and that each and every life-form has a light of
its own."
Vrankulj's sculptures are unique and tend towards plenitude:
Nature is indeed his muse, his main source of inspiration and
his guide, both spiritual and artistic. One could say that
Nature and art are the main motives of his existence.
Materials: metallic strands and wire, tissue
paper, cotton, hemp, natural fibers and textiles, wood, plaster,
stone, cement, copper pipes, sheets of zinc and copper, steel,
glass, water, color pigments, welding, glue, electric cables,
recycled materials and various light bulbs.
Marjan Vrankulj’s sculptures are light, solid and impervious
to humidity. Used for their luminance, these creations bring
a distinctive artistic touch to a highly diverse range of
private and commercial interiors.
Marjan Vrankrulj also works to commission, creating
individual sculptures for specific spaces.
